East India Trading Depot, named after the famous
East India Companies which were the first to introduce rugs into the West, relocated to its present premises in Castell Farmhouse and stables in the late eighties. The beautiful 16th Century house provides the perfect backdrop for the wonderful rugs, carpets and antiques that you encounter as you amble through the large showrooms.
Visitors are often overwhelmed, on their first visit, by
the sheer volume and diversity of the goods on display; rugs from Afghanistan and Persia, pots from Turkey and Morrocco, antique furniture from Britain and Europe and curiosities from everywhere.
